Gay Men’s Retreats: Let The Magic Begin

Saturday, July 31st, 2010

If you are a gay man, you probably have often wondered exactly how you can plan the perfect gay men’s retreats or gay vacations in order to reconnect with men who know exactly what you are going through and what you have been through. There are many different benefits to men’s retreats and in this article, we are going to go through some of the benefits and make sure that you know all about the locations as well as the activities that will allow you to have some fun!

Firstly, you want to decide on the location. There are many different locations within the United States and Massachusetts is just one of the many gay-friendly states in the US. Naturally, Massachusetts is open to gay marriage and if you are looking to plan a retreat, Provincetown right on Cape Cod might be the best option for you. Not only is P-Town known for their gay-friendly establishments, but a lot of the businesses are owned by gay couples.

No matter where you choose to go, you absolutely want to know your group. You need to know the personalities of the people going on the retreat. For example, if you are going with a group of couples, you will want to choose a destination and activities completely different from what you will choose if you are going with a group of singles. The key is to make sure everyone is comfortable and able to have a great time. It might be calm and relaxing or something more wild and exciting may be the ticket.

Planning is very important, especially in terms of your group. Back to the subject of couples, for instance, you want to make sure that you plan for alone time. That is to say, make sure there is room in the itinerary for couples to spend time on their own. Not every second of every day needs to be rigorously scheduled. Indeed, doing so can take away a lot of the fun.

Again, your group may consist of single men. In that case, the same thing holds true where planning is concerned. It is important to give each member of the group time to themselves. Everyone needs time to explore and have individual experiences.

One of the major benefits of going on a gay men’s retreat is making sure that you all connect in some way. It is not easy to be a gay man all of the time and sometimes, just going out with people that understand the challenges is a great way to reconnect with yourself as well as other gay people.

Now that we have talked about connecting and the location, the accommodations are the next step. You want to find some place that reflects you and your group. If you are very high fashion, find something high fashion yet affordable. Remember, you want to make sure that everyone can afford to go on the retreat, so do not go overboard by booking a hotel that is very expensive.

Finding the right location for gay men’s retreats and ensuring that everyone has a fun time can be hard, but in the long run, it does pay off!

Super Days In Gay Travel To Thailand

Friday, July 9th, 2010

Be ready for a friendly welcome in the beautiful country of Thailand. The smiling people do not label you for being straight or gay. They really have no concern about either, and they do not care if you are gay or straight. That is why you will find gay vacations to Thailand a very special adventure.

Thai men want to meet western men, so they teach themselves a certain amount of English so that they are able to converse somewhat. And it may not end in the hotel room. There is a gay culture there, but it has been more or less created by the westerners. You will find lots of gay friends and gay night life here.

And it is good news if you are over 35. Thai people are not obsessed with the young. And middle aged gay people, and even seniors, will be able to find others their age, or with an interest in you, or both. You need only to ask around to find out about the local gay nightclubs.

Until recently the gay establishments were very commercial in nature, such as saunas, bars, and go-go clubs. Now the larger cities do have non-commercial coffee houses and discos. And do treat yourself to a local go-go boy bar.

Although the gay community is obvious, kissing and hugging in public is looked down upon. A public show of affection in any way is inappropriate to the Thai people, and it is the same for gays as it is for straight people. If you do see two Thai men arm in arm, they are just friends and are not displaying any other type of affection.

And the Thai people are very modest. They will dress behind a towel or other cover, even in a gym locker room. The bedroom may display the same modesty, at least until things get going. And if you are expecting wild and crazy sex, you may be in for a disappointment. It is probably a good idea to discuss any special interests you may have.

Ladyboys are what the Thais call drag queens, and there are a lot of hot spots and bars that have these shows. They often cater to a straight crowd. And the types of bars that have boys that you may want to take home are also around. In fact, this practice is relatively safe, as the bars know the boys they hire.

Other cultural differences you should know about are important. For example, you will be expected to pay for everything on the date, as you are actually considered the social superior, although things could change in the bedroom. Compliments are good and should be made often. Try your best not to criticize, as even constructive criticism is not taken well. Dress well and neatly to win more respect, as it is appreciated. The sniffing of your cheeks is a sign of affection, so be ready for that. And be generous. You may even be expected to share your clothes and your toothbrush. All in all, you should have a wonderful time during your gay tours to Thailand.
