From where I come from, having a prenuptial photo shoot is just as important as the wedding ceremony itself. Soon-to-be couples would exert so much effort flying to different locations to have their photos taken. Most are taken at the beach where the bride and the groom are dressed in their wedding attire while they run on the water, splashing and hitting the waves.
I truly think that it’s a great way to ruin the bride’s gown or the groom’s suit. Well, I guess some people don’t truly mind spending so much money on the said event since you get to put them on only whenever you get married. In most cases, they get to put on it only once within their entire lifetime. Well, unless they decide to get a divorce and remarry, then they would need another one of course.
Complicated as it might sound, it’s truly as simple as going to the beach, having your pictures taken and go back to your house. But then again, some brides and grooms wouldn’t want their prenuptial photograph shoots to be as simple as that. They would want some thing extra special than just getting your pictures taken at the beach.
Some couples are more adventurous than you can imagine. Some have their prenuptial photo shoot taken underwater whilst they go for a dive in their wedding gown and suit. It is really fun and truly unique. Some would go mountain climbing. I once saw a couple go on a bungee jump for their prenuptial photograph shoot. Of course, you could only picture how the two of them looked like within their pictures. Plunging at least 1000 feet within the air whilst you try to hold smile isnt the easiest thing to do. I suggest that you hold your smile prior to jumping to ensure that when you jump off, you won’t have to worry about not having a single good-looking photo.
Most of the prenuptial photos I’ve seen were used combined with nature as their setting. Some have their photos used inside the church where they will be holding the wedding. Some playful couples prefer to have photograph shoot ala-impromptu. As in, they wouldn’t need to worry about dressing up simply because they would rather have their pictures taken on their natural state rather than some thing that they aren’t. It is tough to pose for the camera when you know that it will mark one of the most unique and special days in your lives. Most photographers who cater to this kind of photo shoot would still have to attend unique trainings and classes to learn the basics and more complex techniques on how to create the photograph shoot in a more effective way.
Nobody said taking newlywed pictures is going to be a piece of cake. But for anyone who wants to make their wedding day a little more unique, exerting the additional effort to pose for that camera just to come up with their very own wedding portfolio might be worth the effort!
